Reflections Eco-reserve is a family owned and run nature reserve based on Rondevlei. We have an active land rehabilitation programme in place and have so far cleared 26 hectares of alien vegetation. The indigenous vegetation is already thriving and each new season produces new plant highlights and furthers our goal of greater plant diversity.

The Wilderness

Wilderness is a village in heart of the Garden Route, which is a coastal area of great scenic beauty with a great natural history interest. The Cape's renowned biodiversity is evident here, with several varied habitats within close proximity of each other. Forests, scrub, and fynbos vegetation types exist among geographical features that keep the outdoor enthusiast occupied. Steep mountains harbour forest and stunning floral variation, while the lower slopes have deep forest, diverse fynbos and cool plantations. Dunes and an interesting coastline with coastal lakes and estuaries add further aspects of interest.

The brightest little gems in life are not always found on the busy, well-known routes. Sometimes one has to take a detour. A brand new tourist route has just been launched in Oudtshoorn called the ART, CHEESE, CHOCOLATE and LIQUEUR Route. It now gives visitors the opportunity to experience something more than just the caves and ostriches.

HEROLD WINES

Herold Wines on Cradock Farm is situated at the foot of Cradock Peak, just beyond the top of the very scenic National Monument, the Montagu Pass. It is the first vineyard in the Garden Route to grow, produce and bottle cerified wine on the property and can claim the status"Wine of Origin Outeniqua" on wines produced.

THE OUTENIQUA COUNTRY HOP

The Outeniqua Hop Route was inspired by the abundance of hops grown in the nearby mountains near George on the Garden Route in the Western Cape.  Waboomskraal and Herold, as well as parts of Blanco are home to hops growing.  They are a unique attraction to the route, being the only area to grow these strange cones growing on vines up trellises. The Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour© is a unique eco-wilderness adventure that takes place in the magnificent Tsitsikamma indigenous rainforest.
