Outeniqua is one of two majestic 18-hole Parkland layouts at Fancourt. Designed by legendary Grand Slam golfer Gary Player, it is similar in character to its sibling Montagu, and its challenging design and fine conditioning will ensure an excellent test for all levels of golfers. As with all courses at Fancourt, there are a variety of tees from which to choose to play, ensuring that golfers are unlikely to ever feel overpowered by the course

Montagu is a much celebrated parkland course and has been ranked as the number-one golf course in South Africa in the past. It has recently undergone major renovations with several holes being redesigned and has two completely new holes  - the 1st and the 9th.

The Links at Fancourt is without doubt the most impressive piece of golf design and construction ever in South Africa. Fancourt owner Dr Hasso Plattner, who took a very hands-on function in the creation, commissioned a golf course, which would not only be a thorough test for every golfer, but would also rank among the top courses in the world.
Player’s design team spent months studying the classic links courses of Scotland and Ireland and then, armed with inspiration from the best that those countries had to offer, embarked on the ambitious task of recreating some of their finest holes to make a genuine links test on what was once an airfield.

Designer by renowned golf architect Peter Matkovich and professional golfer Darren Clark, this collection of 18 holes provides a wonderful all-round challenge in what many consider to be Matkovich’s best work on home soil.

The course stretches along four kilometres of spectacular coastline, boasting dramatic cliff-side holes, panoramic ocean views and 1000 acres of unspoiled beachfront.

Located near Mossel Bay along South Africa’s beautiful Garden Route, Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf resort is a design masterpiece, entitled by Matkovich himself as the ‘the most dramatic golf course site I’ve ever encountered anywhere in the world’ and rated by Clark as “the best golf course on the planet”.

The course is an easy walk and very playable from tee to green for all golfers, even if you have just taken up the game. The beautiful views of the Indian Ocean or the Springbuck roaming on the course might distract you, but they will most definitely leave you with lasting memories. The Mossel Bay golf course signature hole is the 3d hole, which is a par 4. At almost 400m, and a stroke three, this can be challenging especially when playing into the sea breeze. The tee is situated high above the fairway with magnificent visews over the estate, and the hole runs downhill towards the green with the Indian Ocean as your backdrop. Well-placed bunkers on either side of the fairway will catch any errand tee shots. The green is a large two level undulating green, which makes a guaranteed par 4 on the hole uncertain, should you find the green with your second shot.
